Care Instructions: Works on Paper

HANDLING OF WORKS ON PAPER
Please handle works on paper with care. Keep the artwork away from smoke, heat, flames, high humidity, extreme temperature fluctuations, and continuous exposure to UV light. Do not expose the artwork to moisture or liquids. If the artwork gets wet, blot off excess moisture with a lint-free cloth, and let it air dry at room temperature. Please note, that works on paper may not be waterproof and may fade or smudge when touched or exposed to moisture. Therefore, please avoid touching the surface of the artwork as much as possible. To prevent injuries, as well as damage to the artwork, it is recommended to wear gloves when handling art.

DISPLAYING
Artworks on paper are meant to be displayed in indoor spaces with stable room temperature and humidity. To prevent damage or injury, please choose a display location and method, that prevents the artwork from falling, as well as being accessed by small children and pets. To protect works on paper from environmental factors and damage, it is recommended to display the artwork behind UV-protecting glass. Please confirm that all hooks, wires, and other hardware are stable enough to support the weight of the artwork when hung. Please do not hang the artwork on delicate wall surfaces, as it might leave behind scratches or stains.

TRANSPORTATION & STORAGE
Carefully wrap the artwork in wax, glassine or silicon release paper and ensure that the coated side of the paper is facing the surface of the artwork. To stabilize the artwork, place it onto a piece of cardboard and wrap it in a lint-free cloth or tissue paper. Place the stabilized artwork in a box or between two panels of cardboard. The box or cardboard panels can then be wrapped in bubble wrap, to ensure protection during transport. Do not place textured materials (e.g. bubble wrap) directly onto the artwork surface, since this may leave a permanent imprint on the paint film.

CLEANING
For cleaning, carefully dust off the artwork with a dry lint-free cloth. Please be careful not to apply too much pressure, as the paint film and paper might get damaged.

MAINTENANCE
Over the years, the artwork might show signs of pollution and aging. In order to preserve the artwork for future generations, it is recommended to have it cleaned by a professional art conservator. Please note that the artist is not responsible for the maintenance of the artwork and will not cover any costs for cleaning, repairs, restoration, insurance, or other.

Please note, that the artist is not responsible for any losses, damages, or injuries that occur from handling, displaying, cleaning, transporting, or storing the artwork.
